Diane (Dee) McQuesten studied design under Michael Spafford. Post-graduation,
studied one year at Harvard University's
extension school, then studied fine arts
at Cornish College of the Arts. She became an Active Member of Allied
Arts, PONCHO and the Seattle Arts
Community.
Later, she became a Trustee of
Cornish and remained so for ten years,
serving in a dozen different capacities,
including but not limited to scholarship
and operational fundraising, mentoring
students, the Finance Committee and
chaired Nominations and Special Events.
Meanwhile she became active in the
Seattle Art Museum as a member of SAMS
(Seattle Art Museum Supporters) from 1985
until present.
After several decades of hobby
framing, she began framing
professionally in 1994, opening
McQuesten Framing and Fine Art Services.
(See
Products.)
She is expert at art installation in
both private and corporate settings, and
recently framed and installed 92 pieces
at the world-renowned Seattle
restaurant, Canlis (see
references). Her private clients
live in Capitol Hill, Leschi, Washington
Park, Queen Anne, Magnolia, Normandy
Park, Edmonds, Denny Blaine, the Highlands, Snoqualmie Valley,
Woodinville, Tacoma and Downtown Seattle.
What's more, Dee has an excellent eye
for quality art and has also purchased
many pieces on behalf of their clients.
Dee has access to all
local and regional artists, wonderful
studios in Chelsea and Soho in New York,
Chicago, Los Angeles and Santa Fe. They
also have personal entrees to the half
dozen top galleries in Manhattan. When
purchasing art on behalf of their
clients, they pass along the designers'
discount to them, instead of pocketing
it as Art Consultants traditionally do.
This covers a lot of the framing costs.
McQuesten Framing and Fine Art
Services is on of the only frameries in the
State of Washington that makes house
calls. |
